Ethos
It began with hunting birdies. But we always understood there was something greater than the game itself. It was deeper joy than striking it flush, more pure than the ‘center of the face’ drive off the tee—it was about taking part in practicing and creating deep joy through the game and extending it out to others in all of our relationships. Golf became the creative medium for community and learning deep truths.
We're here for those who are seeking something beyond the scorecard and for those who are seeking knowledge, understanding and wisdom to become greater at being husbands, fathers, and neighbors. We are about discovering this wisdom through the craft and joy of the game of golf.
Greater than Golf creates opportunities to experience the fullness of life by developing a transformative mindset, structuring disciplined practice and inviting adventurous play.
Mindset
That restlessness you feel, that sense you were created for more, to make things, steward things, build and protect things—that's your soul recognizing there is purpose in the midst of the mundane. Even the mundane begins to have its own purpose. Developing a belief about who you are and what is possible must be grounded in truth. Spiraling into false narratives pulls the mind away from healing and cultivating growth. We ask questions about your story, your desire for legacy, how you lead with strength and humility. Truth has a way of setting things to rights, both in your swing and in casting light on the path towards a full life.
Practice
With a proper mindset, practice becomes purposeful and guides us with intent. Building upon the fundamentals—not just grip, stance, posture, alignment and ball position, but character, consistency, diligence, service, faithfulness, and prayer. It creates a structure from which we can explore ideas, build in habits and lay down solid work for the way we think, speak and act. It allows us to create and hone specificity as well as craft systems that cultivate a thriving and fruitful life.
Play
With a proper mindset and solid, disciplined practice, play becomes a creative act of worship. You're stewarding the gifts you've been given on the canvas God created in a co-creative act. We craft together golf shots, we build relationships during every 18, we deepen our connections at home, we experience joy and freedom to love others and delight in generosity. Play is a creative act in our participation with God in His creation. This is where joy runs deep, adventure meets purpose, and we create light in the darkness.
